Reg Plate + Holder fitting

Hi Guys,
My pressed plates and plate surrounds just arrived and I was just wondering if it is safe to drill anywhere on the front grill?
The previous holes don't line up with my surrounds and obviously I can see the radiator behind the grille but I just wanted to make sure there is nothing else sat behind there that I might accidentally drill into?

When i removed my old ones to install stick on pressed plates, I noticed there were a few drilled holed behind.

You should be ok to re drill or might be safer to use self tappers, screwed in slowly.
