I need recommendations for an indy in the Glasgow area please, somewhere close to the centre or able to provide drop off or courtesy if possible. My car needs a service and the cambelt doing.

Had a read of the service sticky but only two posts on Glasgow and one is Glasgow Audi which I don't fancy dealing with.

tbh I've not read of any specialists mentioned on the forum in Glasgow, only one out at Clydebank that also does chip tuning too. Can't remember their name though!

Thought i'd update this incase anyone else is looking for the same info in future, i'll also stick it in the AVS servicing sticky.

Called a few places and the cheapest is Deutschtek which just so happens to be about 2 minutes walk from my work :).
Long life service/big service £135
Timing belt and waterpump £300
Total cost including VAT £460

I know the maths doesn't work out right there but I didn't question it as it was a good price compared to others and they guy was certain that was right.

If this is the place i think it is, its down ayrshire way, and the guy who runs it is called jase. If it is then hes a good guy and very good at what he does. He also looks after my mates UR quattro, s4 and rs4, so knows his stuff.

Let us know what you think.

Star performance in fife has a good rep.

Not the same guy. They are in the centre of Glasgow near Charing Cross. Only read a few reviews of them online so it's a bit of a gamble.

i know where your at. Not far from me.

I've not heard anything about them, hopefully all goes well for you and that you have found a decent garage for us lot in the city to use.

Im fussy, so i only use jjb, unit 20 or bahnstorm, all top top guys and their work is first class, bit of a trek mind.

I normally use my mates garage but it's in greenock near where I live and it's always a bit of hassle with regards to transport for work. I also doubt he'd be much cheaper as he's expensive to start with so mates rates would probably be close to that price.

Deutsche tek seemed like a really professional set up when I popped in. Cars going in Thursday so i'll post up on how it goes for anyones future reference.

Update to complete this thread for anyones future reference.

Was really happy with Deutsche Tek. Was told the work would take around 6 hours. Dropped the car at 9 in the morning, got a call at 11 to say the service was done taking into account the cars history. I was impressed by this as a lot of places would just give the car a standard service without even looking at the full history. Asked if I wanted the brake fluid changing as it was coming up to 2 years and was informed that the rear brakes would need changing soon as the disks were around 80% worn.

Had a good chat with the owner when I picked the car up (2 hours earlier than expected). Very professional outfit, lucky to have them so conveniently close to work so I will be using them in future, which hopefully won't be very often.
