Noisy 1.6 exhaust - sounds like its blowing (59 plate)

Hi,

I got my 1.6 (not FSI) about a month ago and ever since i bought it, it has sounded like the exhaust is blowing. I've done the old test with blocking the end up to see if it is blowing and it doesn't seem to be.

Anyone else had this?

It also makes a whistling noise which gets louder as i go through the rev range, this also doesnt seem right!

take to audi as it's still under manufacturer's warranty? although a lot of the time exhaust issues are classed under wear and tear but I'd still get it looked at fella, if they diagnose the problem and it isnt covered under warranty then you don't necessarily have to get it done there but if it is covered then ur sorted.

yeah i think i should probably take it down there asap really as its been like it since i owned the car

Our 1.6 sounded like this. They checked it on the 30 day check thing and it was fine.
I know exactly the sound you mean.

Hmm, I thought it might just be how they sound. Would of thought it would have sounded a bit better/quieter!!
