I've just noticed today a slight poor design on the outer door seals - i've noticed that even on my June 04 registered car with 3600 miles on there are tiny little marks and scratches appearing around the top of the door frames where the outer seal touches the paint when the door shuts. On closer inspection the inside bits of these are not smooth soft rubber but a material which resembles sandpaper to touch!!
