I recently sent a message to Audi UK asking when the A3 2.0T SB would be available with manual transmission.

I pointed out that the mechanically identical Golf GTi is already available as FWD manual, and that comparable 2WD manual cars from BMW and Mercedes are also available.

This is the response :-

Makes you wonder what kind of business school the management at Audi UK attended, doesn't it ! How to alienate your customers and lose business in one easy lesson !

I have had no response from them as to the rationale for their position.

ummmmm.....Why would you want fwd if quattro is available?

I'm obviously missing something....but not sure what. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/noidea.gif

It is available with DSG right now is it not? I went for the quattro on my A3 2.0T sportback but the DSG is FWD I'm sure - I guess what you're saying is either option is still £1000+ over the basic. Ah well. Go for a softer engine then I guess or fork out.
