Mark, they should be ok provided your battery voltage is high enough (at least 12 volts). Sometimes mine come up with an error on the dash but after a second or two just switch off and then on again and the error goes. On very cold mornings my battery voltage is down to 10 volts ish (knackered battery) and at this voltage the current is insufficient to tell the computer all is ok. As soon as the alternator kicks in and the voltage rises then the current also rises and the computer thinks everything is hunky-dory !
