My A3 2.0 TDI sprung a coolant leak yesterday on the M5.

The coolant reservoir only had a tiny bit left in the bottom - I topped it up and did about a 10min drive - went back down to almost nothing again. Now its light just checked and its wet/leaking from the middle of the radiator just above the fans. Looks like radiator is popped.

Booked it in to Audi for tomorrow, any idea how much we are looking for parts and labour assuming I'm gonna need a new radiator?

Cheers
Lee

hi mate its £176 just for the radiator not sure about labour but it cost me £130 just for them to look at it in liverpool audi.

DIY is not tough for this job. my opinion:if u want a durable solution, get genuine part. 174quid for genuine cooler 1K0121251DM (new/updated version of 1K0121251 N/BK) and around 100-150 for Kessens OE part. So there is not a huge difference.

I no its an old thread i have just fitted a new radiator one of the guys on this forum told me about euro car parts radiator part no 1K0121251 N for £67.00 with winter 25% off not a bad price

After full service with audi today, they said radiator is leaking and they want 550 for it...!

Had mine done just over a week ago at VW Rescue. £340 supply and fit (new rad). and they are a vag specialist that only use OEM parts

The coolent light came up on mine a few weeks ago and when I undid the reservoir cap the fluid level rose up however I heard a large amount of fluid escaping onto the undertray somewhere. I the topped up and it came up again today and when undoing the cap it made the same noise or releasing fluid somewhere as well as pressure?? Gonna take the undertray off to see if I can see any leaks.

£6.95 at halfrauds bars leaks - stopped my coolant dissapearing!!!

Always be careful with any kind of rad weld product. Its just as likely to block up your heater matrix. Which will cost you a lot more to replace. Most modern cars require removal of dash, heater box etc. Not a nice job.

Im not saying its the devil....but i dont use the stuff
