Hi Guys.

Experienced a very odd/worrying issue today with my A3.
Went to visit my sister today, so parked the car on her drive and locked it using the keyfob.
After leaving her house, I returned to my car and all the windows were down... even worse it had been raining lightly.

Now I can't see anything in the manual, but I assume there must be a way of opening all the windows via
the keyfob as I can only assume I sat on my keys or soemthing.... any ideas?

George

Yeah your correct. If you hold the button for a few seconds your windows will go down. Can turn it on and off via vagcom

Not trying to scare you m8, but i had exact same thing
Happen to my a3, a few years ago, turned out windows
Were going down by themselves whenever it rained !
Short version of the story was that the rear windscreen
Wiper seal had perished, allowing water ingress into the
Tailgate, seems the water had shorted out the alarm electrics
Which made the windows go up and down by themselves hth

This happened to me a couple of times & was caused by me squashing the key fob in my pocket - this activated the conveniency opening function. Mines a 2010 car & this can be turned on/off via the menu on the DIS.

Yeah its a coding option, there is also a coding option to close roof/windows via the rain sensor, although this may only work on newer models.
