Introduction & S3 Conversion -grill questions!

Hey Everyone,

I have been lurking round the forum for a while now and posting the odd random question..So here is a little introduction.

Recently purchased an Brilliant black audi a3 2.0 TDI sport S-line 2004 but with facelift front end. I have been slowly modding it up since I purchased it around 3 months ago now!

I have completed the following mods-Remap with upgraded intercooler,19'' rs4 alloys power coated in dark anthracite (which are far too wide-as the stick out on the front a little and catch on the rear with a full car) Rear full Tints, leather centre arm wrest and currently colecting parts for RNS-e instal!

Also purchased S3 front bumper and rear diffuser/vallance from TPS on friday which are currently in the spray shop!

I have a few question regarding the conversion..

1. Will my sports grill fit into the s3 front bumper- Im guessing no ?

2. I Realy like the rs6 honey comb front grill and wish to put that on when I instal the s3 front bumper..Is the easiest way to do this just to buy the rs6 grill? I have read that a few people have purchased an rs4 grill and cut it to fit the s3 outer ring...but seams a little messy- Slightly confused on this topic!

Would realy apreciate any help!:icon_thumright:

yea I though as much..so I my options are purchase an s3 front grill or could I purchase an rs3 front grill and make that fit ?
 
rs3 grill will fit as we found out the other day :D
 
O wait just realised its a 2004 no it wont :(
 
realy..why whats stopping it fitting? its had the bonnet changed to the facelift 55-2008 etc!This

2009+ has a different bumper with different lights and a slightly different shape grill
 
so im guesing the only way to acheive an rs3 style grill on my car is to get an rs6 style grill chop it up and stick it to an s3 outer edge?
 
where did you get your chrome mirrors form may i ask? i know nothing to do with ur post just wondering because i would like some.
 
Unless you can get an RS6 grill at a good price (the only ones I've found on ebay are around £300+) I wouldn't chop one up.
 
So does the rs3 grill fit the s3 bumper 2009+??

And also I have a 2011 a3 s line does the s3 bumper just a straight swap??
 
so does the rs6 grill fit into the s3 pre facelfit bumper? The chrome mirrors came with the car..
 
What things would you have to swap accross? Does any one have a part number for it so I can order it from tps? With washer jet holes.

And a part number for rs3 grill if it fits the 2009+. S3 front bumper?

Have a look in Paullie RS3 grille thread she put the part number in there and price.
 
So has anyone fitted an rs6 grill to the pre facelift s3 bumper? Is it much hassle..
