Been looking around at the cost of replacement clutch and flywheel, mainly as the A3 ive recently bought hasnt had it done! and just for peace of mind. The gear change is ok but some times it doesnt feel as smooth as it could and you can kinda hear a clunk of sorts when it goes into gear and the idle is a little jerky sometimes which i am lead to belive can be caused / be a sign of the flywheel going

now on ebay for a Sachs clutch/flywheel its £519 delivered which seems like a fair price but obv need to factor in the price of actually fitting it!

Would most go for the upgraded Sachs kit

I wouldn't replace the clutch and flywheel until they are actually on their way out e.g. clutch slipping.
My gear change has never been smooth even after replacing the clutch and flywheel and there is a bit of a clunk when changing to 2nd.
You might still do a good few miles on your present clutch.
