    2.0 TDi BKD Turbo Supplier

Can anyone recommend a low cost supplier for a replacement BKD Turbo? It's to go on a 2006 A3 2.0 TDi.
Looking for a reconditioned unit, or new if the price is right.
    Thanks

Nigel, doesn't hybrid require intercooler, new clutch and exhaust?

if u want the MOST from a hybrid then you should consider an exhaust and CAI, but standard intercooler is good for upto 400 bhp then perhaps consider a new (larger)unit, personally i would run the clutch u have at the moment until its is extremely cooked then replace it with a heavy duty one, all depends how you drive, condition of your current components and of course what its remapped to
    ,
I will go hybrid deffinately when mine packs in (i will say no more lol)

I too need to replace my turbo on a BKD engine.

Turbo Technics quoted £425+VAT on a reconditioned unit with 2 years warranty and £75+VAT back if you send your old unit.

Midland Turbo quoted £185+VAT to repair (if no core damage) damaged turbo or £380+VAT for an exchange turbo with 1 year warranty.

So for an extra £300 Turbo Technics will exchange your damaged turbo for a new (?) hybrid unit.... seems the tastier option. I'll get a cheaper re-map from Shark Performance as I already have their STS unit. You reckon just leave the clutch until it goes anyway?

Well I'm going to leave my standard clutch in, if it lasts WOO HOO (I've won a watch),
If the clutch gets cooked THEN I'll fit a performance one, job done ,
    hope that makes sense!

If the hybrid turbo is replacing the intended OEM turbo, then yes, it will work without a remap but there will be too much lag. A remap is essential really to get the best out of a hybrid.
