I bought a 2004 Audi a3 2.0tdi s line 140ps dsg back in February and it has been fine up until recently...
It started of as a slight judder/missfire in neutral and park. Not in any of the drive gears. It was only very slight so didn't think much of it. It also had a slight starting issue which I thought would be the starter motor. (just like it struggled to start/took a bit longer than it
Should). I work for VW and got it from work with a warranty so got them to have a look bit no luck everything seemed fine.
The judder/missfire has got alot worse, meaning I feel like cant put it into neutral when at a junction or in traffic. I have noticed it doesn't seem to be at hot or cold. It's quite random and sometimes will only be slight.
I took it into Audi last week and they said it was the cam sensor (not under warranty) so I paid for them to replace it. Little did I know this didn't change a thing! So I sent it back to them and they said injector. Of course...not covered under warranty. I checked with our parts man and he said it's very rare for these to go on this model. If it was a 170 then I would get 100% goodwill from Audi due to it being a common issue. I had the VW guys look at it again and everyone seems to be puzzled as to what it can be as Audi are now saying it isn't a specific injector.
I have heard about the wiring issues and wondering if it's starting to go?
I'm hesitant to take it on the motorway as I don't want it to go on me. Anybody got any sort of idea what this could be?
