As I've got a few people interested and itching to buy my wheels, the ones I'm looking at have an ET of 35, I think the standard S-Line alloys are 44 or something?
The new alloys are 18's, so does ET35 mean they'll stick out further?

Cheers :)

standard alloys are et54 i beleve mate on all a3/s3's , my wheels which are aftermarket reps are et45 and they are very close to the arches any further out et35 is way to far out of the arches et45 max

Got any pictures mate? I thought the standard were 44? Could be wrong :)

no im sure they are et54 mate i can take a picy 2morrow for ya but i'll take a look through my photobucket now to see if ive got any pics

It really depends on the rim width. For an A3/S3 8P, 8.5 width with et45 is about close to your limit, and if you want to drop it you will need to run 215 or 225 rubber.

An 8in wheel with ET35 will stick out only 4mm more than the 8.5in ET45.

You can use this calculator to check the difference - Wheel Offset Calculator

Thanks Nath :)

The tyres on mine will be 225/40 but they're only 8 inches instead of 8.5 so I'm sure I'll be fine, plus my a3 isn't lowered.......yet :)

Ok nath, will they stick out to far? I've never got my head around fitments :(

I have 18 8.5J et32s for sale If your going for a set up like lukes. Sorry to highjack

Right ok, so best stick to something more then 45 then? I really need to get my head round it all!

Nath, surely if the wheel is narrower (8J) they are more likely to fit no?

Im currently looking at some 18 x 8" 5 x 112pcd ET 45 to fit on a standard Sport MY10 A3, will they fit?

Yes Nath, 40's i think, what about 35's? **** ride quality?
