Cleaned the car today and notice one of the alloys has been lightly kerbed. NOthing too serious and certainly not worth paying any Alloy repair specialist £50+

My question.... does anyone know if you can buy a touch up/alloy repair that matches the outside edge of the new Rotor 18in standard alloys??? What colour is it??

Thanks folks in advance.

It's not a colour is it? I thought they were diamond cut on the edges??

If they are like mine its two shades of grey

As said, I'm sure they're diamond cut around the edge.
My mum's GTI Monza had a mark repaired by the garage she bought it from 6 months ago ... whiteworm has set in already.

Diamond cut around the edges (as said above), need to find someone who can diamond cut alloys. I spoke to someone who said it may just be easier to get replacement wheel when it gets bad :crying:

As I'll be spacering mine out, I'm expecting similar pain.

Sorry for the thread hijack, i have a similar problem (after getting my wheels refurbed) ive kerbed one of mine. :banghead:
Like said in OP, any sort of touch up kits?

well i guess we have different ideas about diamond cut. I think of diamond cut as using a tipped tool on a course feed to give a grooved surface that reflects light.
Thats not what i have on my BE wheels.

I would say they were turned and ground, maybe just ground.

Yo may be right mate; I've only seen A4 BE wheels and they had a definite feel of pure metal (no paint) to them. I've not been close up to a BE A3 18" rim yet. There seem to be a couple of variants, some matte finish, some shiny, so it makes the plot even thicker / harder to fathom. Nice rims though, looking forward to them despite the pain.

Any idea how much we need 3 doing!!!

****** helL!

Prices | Lepsons

If they are diamond cut (and rereading the thread I am not sure we really found if they were or not) then Lepsons do a top job. Literally like new, and if they aren't diamond cut then again the job will be top notch, but cheaper!

The term "Diamond Cut" is a marketing term, used widely by the trade to describe the finish on a wide variety of alloys.

In reality, the 8P Black Edition Alloys are finished on a lathe, with a tool that will almost certainly have diamond dust impregnated in it ;)

Most importantly: The clear lacquer is a matt finish, not gloss, so it's very hard to find this in rattle cans.

The arms are finished in "Titanuim"
paint code is : L8AU
Colour name : TITANOPTIK/GRANIT
Paint system : STANDOHYD BASECOAT
Coat : 2 COAT

BLENDING IN RECOMMENDED
APPLY STANDOCRYL 2K CLEAR SUPER MATT FINISH

In extremis, I had a small stone chip on mine, I sanded down, polished to match, and then lacquered with Wurth Lacquer, you'd have to be looking pretty closely to spot the gloss finish next to the matt, but at least I've protected the bare metal, and arrested any further water damage to the surrounding lacquer.
