Looking for some advice please

Well not yet a S3 owner but i am currently looking for one. Have had mk4 golf 1.8t ( aum ) for last 4 years. I have ventured accross from Golfgtiforum.co.uk. ( as rhyso did lol ). Here is my not yet finished build thread lol Jonny's 1.8t aum . Been looking on site last few days and looks like a pretty good site tbh. I am asking for advice on buyin a S3 i.e common faults / best model / spec to get and all the usual stuff. Thanks in advance

Jonny, welcome mate.... I am dubcruiser on GolfGTI. We met at the r-Tech rolling road day a couple of years ago... Best advice on S3 is to get the best spec you can for your budget. Engines are Pretty reliable. More so than the 1.8t anyway. Diverter valves can fail, and make sure the Haldex has been serviced...

Agree with Scott but personally i go for lowest mileage i can find and work on the theory that i can add the extras but i cant knock off the miles ( legally )
