hey all, im new here and i own a 2010 Audi A3 1.8T.
im looking for some help on retrfitiing my car from H7 to bi xenon's , ive already baught the whole headlight DRL, D3s Kit with bulbs and Oem blasts the only thing missing is the CECM module.
as i was searching the forum, and across the web i found that kufatec is offering a module on there site that is described as "Control unit needed for the OEM retrofitting of Xenon headlights - Audi A3 8P from model year 2010".

if somone can help a bit on this issute i would be greatfull, as i know i need a control module G (8P0 907 279) but that is all i know.
thanx

you would only need the adapters afaik... wire them in and then code the car to accept the bi-xenon... done it on my car last month but mine is a 2005.
You would need to check your central electronics module version to make sure that you have a version that would accept the bi-xenon headlights.
not too hard at all

NHN, im from israel.

and itwasme: i have 2010 car i know its different since the 2010 modles have a different CECM module for cars with bixenon and ones with halogen.

about the coding i have the offical dealership heling me coding and installing i just need all the parts, and thats my question what do i need and where can i get it from ?

Headlights (with bulbs and ballasts), adapter loom, and if needed after checking the Central Electronic Module (CEM). I had halogens on my car but i did not need a new CEM as my one is a highline and fully bi-xenon compatible

As you're from israel not sure the leveling system & washers are a legal requirement, they will be here soon, but your part number is way of, as your year changed to an all in one CE & Convenience module in 09 & you may find you already have the compatible module for these lights, I suggest you get it scanned to check the version you have before buying anything else.

I'm somewhat surprised if you're getting an audi dealer to help you, why you need to ask our help, surely they know the cars extremely well over there as they're afterall a vag dealer or did I miss the boat here?

well :) its a bit wierd cuz none had ever done something similler halogen to bi xenon. i went to a local shop and they said i need the new CECM and what they found out is that i need the new module. i wanted to ask on this forum what will i need or exactlly what part and where to get it from. the offical dealership doesnt know how to retro or even change the vagcom settings so if you could help and tell me how and ill print it over and give it to them.

maby ill take a picture of what i have , that could help a bit.
about the washer system i dont need it and also auto leveling - i only want the bixenon's to work.

You need to scan the car & provide the log of the CE module which is usually module 09 when using vcds or vas diag machine, a picture isnt good enough.

Ok I'll do that . I just saw se number part is 8P0907063A . I'll scan it today and write it down

Ok so that has got what we need, I would login with vcds & see if the label file allows coding for bixenon.

Sorry to thread jack but I'm doing the same thing here. I have a 2009 TFSI A3 here in the States and I got all the items except for the wiring loom. So I'm assuming once I get that it's just a matter of getting the front bumper off, installing the housings with all the gear, wiring in the adapter to EU and making VAG-COM adjustments. My next question is if want to add the auto-leveling after converting, is that going to be a problem or should I just wait to do the conversion until I can get all the auto-leveling gear?

first of all ive got the cable and the VCS program. after installing and connecting it to the car i encounter to a weird error - it doesn't let me go into "09 Central Elec", it says a weird error! all other models are ok and i can see them well , and even run the a check, so somone has a sulotion to this issue ? :uhm:
the good news is that i have the part number of the model by taking a picture under the steering wheel. the part number is :"8PO 907 063 A" manufactured 09.09.09 so maybe you could give me a bit info on by the part number.

im uploading a few pics to show you the items ive collected so far to retro the headlights for bi xenon. and the cable pic , that maybe you could help me know what i cant connect the electric model though it doesn't show any error on the model.

1st of all is it a genuine interface or counterfeit, 2nd without showing the weird error, we cant advise any further.

pic of lead says vag106 so i'm assuming it's a clone & perhaps too out of date to read the newer style module?

It's not a genuine cable but it's rhe newest model. I saw on Ross tech site that it's a known problem and I'll try to do what they offer for a sulotion tomorrow .

they will not offer any help on cloned leads as the are illegal copies, all they will suggest is buy an original one.

ive finally done it! successfully connected the pc to the car. well the 09 Cen result is:

so the big question is ? is it ok to retro bi-xenons:uhm::uhm:?

after connecting, didnt you go in to the long coding to check the coding to see if there was a box for bi-xenon you could tick?

after connecting, didnt you go in to the long coding to check the coding to see if there was a box for bi-xenon you could tick?

yea i did, there are a couple of options i could click to activate bi xenon in a few bytes when running threw them with the down arrow.my question is , if i have the option available on clicking , does it mean for sure i can install safely my headlights at last?

im adding the full scan with the new cable .

ive checked a recommendation by a friend who said i need to mark the "v" for all bi xenon options and look if its will allow me , well it does so i hope it marks a good sign , another thing is after reading across the web i have noticed that maybe the project could work but if i wont have the high-line model i wont be able to have "high beam" , as for the headlights they will work . is that true ?

The difference is that on normal halogen or basic xenon, the main beam is a bulb where on the bi-xenons there is no actual different bulb, its a shutter that moves & deflects the beams but it will work.

so let me get this , your saying that for sure my 09 module can stand the upgrade for bi xenon? u dont need to change anything ?

you would need to install and fit the cables with the extra wires on the adapters to the pins on the CE module. then code the car to Bi-xenon
First go to Central Electronics-->Long Coding-->Function 07
Things you have to change
Byte 00 Bit 1 ON
Byte 03 Bit 4 OFF
Byte 17 Bit 1 OFF (I think it's off but I forget. Play around)
Byte 21 (Dropdown box) Choose the one that matches your setup or liking.
And the finalize your settings - not sure how that goes; should be something along the lines of transfer to long coding and save. It should be trivial (My vag com specialist helped me program as I gave him the coding).

Did this ever work out for you? I have a 2009 A3 that I just got done sourcing all the parts for this conversion. I'm very interested in knowing what you had to go through to get it totally done.

NHN, if you read this, I was wondering if there was any specifics I should know before doing this retrofit? One of the four wires going back to the CE module from the Kufatec harness has a larger pin. I hope this is normal...It would be nice to have someone like you over here in the states cause i'd just let you handle the whole thing...

As long as you got the correct harness from kufatec (there is a specific harness for facelift cars) then the larger pin should be fine. I cannot confirm 100% as I have not used the facelift harness though I have not yet seen a kufatec harness that has come with the wrong pins. Nigel has his reasons for not liking the kufatec cables so asking him to check that won't get you far unfortunately. :friends:
If you have the correct headlights and kufa wires and have already checked that you have the correct CE module that will support the use of bi-xenon then you should only require to fit and code to complete the install.

Yeap larger pin is possible as not all are the same, which ****** me of but alas, cant all have same rating.

Hey pay me to come there & I'd do the lot, simples :)

Unfortunately I've seen some incorrectly wired directly from kufacrap, plus the support sucked which led me to not use them again, albeit this was few years back, but never felt the need to return, others may have been successful, but I tend to properly wire, not use adapters (except on an iso to quadlock), nothing beats soldering, heatshrink, job done :)

if I need another bigger sized pin for the Kufatec harness to go into the CE, what's the part number for the repair wire that has the larger size?

Hi friends,I installed using adapter Led bi-xenon lights. When I coded LED lights illuminate the rear stop light. Please advise me.
