Hey guys, wonder if any of you can clarify something for me.

I used to drive a 2009 A3 and swapped out the radio for an RNS-E... which couldn't have been simpler. Someone has asked if they can buy the old Symphony/Concert II head unit for their 2006 A3.

From what I understand their dash is setup like this:

and, if that's the case, then it already has the right cage for the double-din head unit, right? But what about the connections at the back, is it likely to be as as plug-n-play as I experienced with the 2009 A3?

Thanks fellas!

Hi mate, if the radio is coming out of a 2009 and going into a 2006 then they will need to get an adapter harness. Cost about £25. All a3 2007 onwards have the quadlock adapter on all the stereo units and navigation Plus. But all a3 2006 earlier have the separate connectors, hence why you need the harness adapter to quadlock.
Hope this helps fella.
