Hi All

Picked up my new S3 and I LOVE it!

The only thing is, I have noticed a few problems with it.

First of all, the passenger airbag light stays on after starting. I checked the Airbag lock in the glovebox and its defiantely on. Is it expensive/hard to reset?

Also the switch for the passenger window doesnt work or light up so there is obviously a lose connection. The Window still works when operated by the drivers switch and the connection is loose for the passenger bose stereo. Can somebody please tell me how hard it is to fix both and how to prize the trim off to do it?

My Econ light also doesnt go off and the air is not very cool which in the handbook suggests that the air con needs re-charged???? Would this be true? Is this hard/expensive to do?

Thanks in advance.

I cant help on the actual fixes but seeing as you've only had it for a day or two take it back to the dealer - get him to sort it...

Threaten to return it under sale of goods act or something if he doesnt fix it :S

Did you HPI check the car before you bought it - it hasnt been in a bump has it (thinking of passenger side airbag)?

Yeah I did HPI etc. Its just I bought it from Manchester and Im in South Wales so dont wanna go ALL the way back there really. It say passenger Airbag is on when I start it so Im just thinkling that it might just need re-set!

send it to the mail dealer, then send the bill to the garage you got it from. i'm sure they must have given you at least a 30 day if not 3 month warranty with it. does not sound very clever for a new buy.

You can take it to your local dealer as mentioned. Don't accept any crap from them, you paid good money so they should fix it.

I believe you can get your aircon recharged at any Halfords. I normally wouldn't trust them near a car but I know a few people that have had it done with no problems.

Can't help with the others but as people have said I'd be contacting whoever/wherever you got the car from.

Get an aircon specialist to do it as if its not a simple regas job they will charge you for gassing it but if it still doesnt work you will get charged, they arent it to diagnostics etc

1st I would scan the car & find out what the known issues are, going to gas it without actually knowing the reason for the fault could be a waste of money, scan car 1st then approach the issues.

Im going to to take it to a VAG Specialist, ( Euro Performance Ltd - VW AUDI Specialists South Wales, Service, Repair and Performance ) near me tomorrow as they have VCDS and also do Air Con re-charing for only £35 (if that is the problem!) and I will see if they can sort the other problens as well.

Ah good old EuroPerformance, dont take any crap from them, insist on getting it done! I was told on numerous occaisions they would see to my car, took my details many times, at least 15 to be honest with you and never got back once. If the job isnt an expensive one there not too bothered about helping you. Oh and for the record there a European car specialist not an Audi specialist. There not on Audis databse at all of the approved Audi specialists.

Think I will give them a miss and try http://www.welshvw.com instead then! Plus they are alot closer. Does anybody know what they are like? I have also heard of: www.ngmotors.co.uk.
Or is there any other good places in South Wales to try?
Thanks Welshwoody
