2003, Cassette player head unit swap.

Hi guys,

Just purchased a 2003, 2.0 FSI, but haven't yet collected it. Its got the Chorus radio / cassette, and I want to swap in a CD player.

Firstly, can I fit a standard CD player head unit? I already have one lying around, or will I need an Audi specific one?

no you can put any one in that you like you just might have to get a new cage to fit the gap between the radio and the dashboard and more than likely a wiring harness for the radio to the car
 
As above, but need adapters to make it work, best bet is to use an audi radio, in the market for an upgrade?
