I had a Golf V6 4motion as a daily but wanted something a wee bit newer, loved the V6 so this was the replacement.
The day I collected.

Went all the way to Ipswich for it, car is spot on, drove back 550 miles perfect.
A3 Sportback Sport, good spec, half leather, sat nav, bose, but the best bit is under the bonnet, 3.2 V6 Quattro.
I vowed that I would not get caught up in the modding spiral like I normally do.
That lasted two weeks, its a slippery slope

Two weeks after that, genuine S3 wheels refurbished in anthracite and a black optics grill

Then facelift led tail lights

Stupidly I had some holidays and needed to keep busy. Picked up a leather interior for it for a bit of a steal, probably cause its red.

The new front seats are heated so needed to upgrade the climate control as the heated seat controls are incorporated in the unit, so took the opportunity to install the facelift unit.

Felt the interior is a bit bland so as well as the climate unit, added a bit of bling in the form of light switch and pedals.

Also added an ipod kit and hid the ipod in the coin tray.
Finally had to replace the steering wheel, love the flat bottom wheels.

Bought AMG reps for the car but didnt really like them, so splashed out on genuine BBS RS-GT's
Lowered on coilovers.
S-line front bumper, facelift rear bumper

Also fitted the rear diffuser, sline black edition with honeycomb inserts.

Those shiney things poking out below are the end of the cat back non resonated milltek I had fitted a wee while back but had to extend the tailpipes to accomodate the new bumper.

Inside, fitted an S3 gear knob and S3 vent grills.

Didnt like the light interior headlining etc so hunted down a full s-line spec.
Managed to source everything at a scrappy but they didnt send everything so after getting mucked about for weeks I ended up biting the bullet and buying the bits I was missing from Audi.
Delighted how it looks now :)

That is pretty much it, also had it remapped, got an s-line rear spoiler away getting painted and that should just about do it, but as I say its a slippery slope.

Great job so far, is the carbon wrapping or is it skinned?

Very nice car.

Can u give us details of the remap?

Also, the facelift climate control and switches, was that a straight swap?

I thought the climate unit was a ****** to retrofit pre 07?

Its carbon skinned, got a few other bits I will probably do as well.
Thought so, looks far superior to wrap. I've managed to find somebody close to be who is trialling it so I'm going to give him a chance

Whats ur opinion on the remap?

Did they put the car on a Rolling road?

Looks really nice mate :) Map light unit in the roof next ?

Map is good, brings everything down a bit, if you know what I mean, much more drivable.
Didnt go on the rolling road as it was done by the local agent, will get it on at the next local RR day, but you can tell on the road, mid range is awesome.

Liking the lower bumper honeycomb insert, is it off an S3? Is that a standard fit to sbortback rear bumpers or does it need to be modified?

I got about +20Ib/ft mid range but nothing up the top, peaked out at just over 250bhp. you need a before and after to make any sense of a remap.

loving the work so far tho mate carbon fibre is porn for interiors im going to be getting some done soon

The climate is working 100% ? I got told it only worked on late 07 cars due to it having a different heating system?
Hmmm i got told that same,i need to try one in mine then lol.

Cracking car mate, really coming on a treat, keep it up

Well everything works, heating/ cooling/ temp control/ fan/ heated screen/ heated seats, cant really comment, took a chance that it would fit/ work and it seems to be ok.

Is that so :eyebrows:

Your car is very nice mate, different to the rest of our SB's on here, in a good way though. Quite like the wheels, not a big fan of the colour but love the 3.2! The red interior works well with the blue surprisingly, carbon is  how much did that cost?

What else you got on the cards for it? May I suggest facelift esp switch ,card tray, airbag switch trim etc. To match your facelift climate

Really like it mate, one question tho, was that half alcantara you took out? And if so what did you do with it!?

Its not going to fit your 3 door quattro 1981 ?

Great work Col love the wheels :) So what's next?

Its not going to fit your 3 door quattro 1981 ?

Lol I know paddy! Plus it already has alcantara.. Just been looking at a 140 tdi SB for the mrs, and the pony cloth interior was putting her off as she currently has cream recaros in her 4 motion.. I personally prefer alcantara over leather, but each to their own!

It was half alcantara, sold it to a mate who fitted it in his wifes poverty spec sb.

Carbon was expensive but my mate has starting doing it so will probably experiment with a few bits.

Got the spoiler fitted now, going to get it detailed as the paint needs a bit of attention, other than that just enjoy it, however I do have a hankering for a different interior, but will leave that for now :yum:

Finally got the genuine S-line spoiler fitted.
Popped along to a local meet today, a few pics.

Car's looking amazing, gutted I was too much of a shape from last night to come along today and see some of the eastside boys in the metal/flesh. Pretty amazing to see the pics of when you picked the car up, you literally wouldn't know it was the same car!

absolutely cracking job there mate! big transformation!!!

If you want to give the wheels a new home please send to me!!

Beautiful conversion there pal...

What made you pick a sportback over the 3 door?

Car looks great! and I love your engine!:)

I also change my climatronic for this new one and its not working correctly. Cooling is not working as should, evrything is working but ventilation flap are not opening, result = cold air is not getting into car. If somebody want to instal this one and want use it, have to do swap with old one. If someone need info how to do that let me know.

Sorry for off top.

Smashing thread. Full of ideas for the 3.2. Them wheels and drop are spot on. I was wondering what kind of difference a remap would make to the V6, see you're running a milltek too. Done anything else since?

Still can't really believe the orginal pic is the same car, you've done a great job on that car, Colin!
