2.0 TDI

Hi all just a quick one, is it normal that my A3 2.0TDI 140 only revs to 3000rpm, only noticed tonight if I press pedal all the way down in neutral it only gets to 3000rpm, no where near the red numbers.

Sorry if im being thick just curious.

p.s. the car drives fine.

Yes. It won't rev over 3000 RPM in neutral.

as far as im aware thats normal alot of cars wont do that nowadays
