Seat airbag plug.

Quick one,can anyone confirm which is the airbag plug on the bottom of the seats?

No one know ? dont want to blow one! and should i unplug the batt?

Disconnect the battery before you unplug anything and make sure you touch a door hinge to earth yourself.

You should be ok then.

That's what I do when removing the steering wheel airbag.

Yeah if your ever dealing with electrics and unsure disconnect the battery and pump the brake peddal once to get rid of any charge in the car.

Ok so the seat i have the air bag plug is slightly different,

Is it a case of just re- wiring my plug onto the other seat? they seem to be the same looms etc, same wires and plugs are only just different??

If the wires match pin to pin, then have you tried plugging in as looks like a minor housing plastic design change, if it doesnt fit then just swap housings over.

ok, yeah it looks like just the case thats slightly different, i cant remember if mine has three pins but the other seat defiantly has 3 pins, i will undo the battery again and check if mine has 3 pins but i can imagine it does as the wires on both looms are the same.

how do you swap the housing? ive tried to split them but they dont seem to fully slit?

Huh, what you mean you dont know if yours is 3 pins mate, you showed a pic of yours with 3 pins lol

You have to remove the pins, not split the housings.

sorry am getting confused lol. ok yeah i think mine has 3 pins as there a three wires, you can sort of make out 3 pins from the pic, as you said about splitting the case how do i go about doing that to swap them over? i can unclip the purple clip and orange clip of them but nothing else seems to split ?

What NHN means is the plug does not split.

You have to remove the pins(together with wires obviously ! ) from the plastic plugs and then re-insert them into the correct plug.

To do this you need a special tool or a jewellers screwdriver pushed into the plug to press down the locking tab on the pin.

If you have never done this before then I would suggest an airbag connector is not the one to learn on !

Before you try it, make sure you have drawn out where the wires go so you don't get them swapped over and don't draw the diagram from the front of the plug and then read from the rear when inserting !

Sorry to state what may be obvious to you but it sounds as though you may be a bit 'new' at this sort of thing.

no worries thanks, yeah very new to it all and can understand this is not the idea learning basis, but i have got to do it either way, right so its possible to pull the pins out and re insert them into the correct one thanks !

will see how i get along but i cant see me being able to get hold of one of the specialised tools. :/
