Hi guys.

I have flat bottom steering wheel (FBSW) without MultiFunction (MF)... It came that way from fatory. So, I asked Audi what parts do I need to add both MF and cruise control. Here is what they've said to me:
8P0 953 549F - wheel ecu
1K0 959 653D - some sort of slip ring?
8P0 953 513D 9B9 - cruise control stick
8P0 953 512A 6PS - steering wheel under plate
8J0 095 1527 5PR - some kind switches?
8J0 971 589B - harness

So I was thinkin if someone can help me out here...

I know that for cruise control, these two are enough:
8P0 953 549F + 8P0 953 513D 9B9
underplate can be modified, but it's cheap, so we can add it also in this part of order:
8P0 953 512A 6PS

And that's fine, I can get all that from ebay and do it my self. But what about retrofitting MF on FBSW? Why do I really need the 1K0 959 653D part? And what about 8J0 095 1527 5PR & 8J0 971 589B - what are those?

The 1K0 part may be required if your slipring doesn't have all 8 pins

First thing is to find out what has actually been fitted. What year is the car? Have you got VCDS ?

Edit - sorry, didn't read above post !!

8J0 971 589 B - harness is the new wiring harness that connect your old airbag to the new wheel. There are extra leads for the multi-function bit.

8J0 095 1527 5PR - some kind switches? You have the number slightly wrong - it's 8J0 951 527 5PR (black) but these are the multi-function switches that are used in the wheel. You can buy these separately if you don't buy a new wheel.

You may already have the correct ecu and slip ring

I know that it's possible to have correct ECU, but if that's the case why did Audi offer me all that stuff? I gave them my chassis number, so I'm pretty much sure that I will have to change both slip ring and steering wheel ecu :(

Wait until you can scan it mate, then you'll know for definite.

By the way it extremely unlikely you will find ecu revision 'F' on ebay.

Can I suggest you ring Dave at Stoke Audi who sponsor this forum and ask him for the parts required. He is most helpful and has access to more information than we can get. His number is in the sponsors section of the forum.

I have a multi-function slip ring for sale, PM me il get you exact part number of it

OK guys, I have all the parts... Just that instead of control module 8P0 953 549F, I've got 8P0 953 549K. From RossTech it seems that both F and K are highline. Is it ok then to use K?
