Hi,

I have an Audi A3 2.0 fsi MY 06 and sometimes during acceleration I have heard a weird noise from the bottom of the car (around the gearbox maybe?). The noise doesn't appear every time. The noise appears especially while strong acceleration. Sometimes the third gear is a bit stuffy...

Do you guys have any similar experience ?

Thanks for help!

sorry mate cant help with this one...

What do you mean by stuffy?

Manual, dsg, 4wd?

The car is 6-speed manual and FWD. With stuffy I mean that sometimes the third gear won't go on easily.. :)

Clutch would be my 1st port of call.

The knock comes usually when clutch is not under stress. The knock usually appears when I change gear from 6->4 and do the strong acceleration.. I have read that knock could come from the rubbers that support the gearbox..?? or the rubbers of engine ?

Well could be the bushes, dogbone or engine mounts, have a look for wear/movement.

If it's under strong acceleration it's likely to be the engine mounts.

as said check the mounts possibly the drive shaft connections to
