Hope someone can help me with this.

Got the right dipped malfunction light come up on the dash the other day, so thought the bulb had blown. Changed the bulb, still no difference.

Tried the bulb from the other side of the car as I knew this one worked, still malfuntioning?

Done a scan with vagcom and got this error code from central electrics:

Hope someone can shed some light on what is wrong with the car & what I need to do in order to fix it.

Thanks....

No-one?

Ok, can anyone tell me if this is the same fault code for a failed bulb?

Also does anyone know where the fuse is for the halogen headlight as I can't seem to find one (thought this maybe the reason for no positive feed), also do the headlights have seperate fuses, and is there anything else I could check on the same fuse?

If the fault is 'open or short to plus' then it sounds like an earthing problem.

It is the same fault code for a faulty bulb. You need to check your user handbook for fuse positions.

Thanks Mike,

I looked at the fuse positions on the back of the fuse cover by the driver's door but nothing listed for the actual headlight, only auto headlight adjustment which I dont have :(

Ok, had a quick look in the manual.

If I'm reading the manual correctly, there is a 30amp fuse for Lighting, left (control unit for vehicle's electrical system) & another 30amp fuse for Lighting, right (control unit for vehicle's electrical system) on the left hand side of the engine compartment.

Now I would guess if it was the fuse then all right-hand lighting would be affected, which is not the case, only the dipped beam is not working. All other lighting works fine.

What a ****!!

I would like to thank Mike for his help in this post, but let this be a warning to you all before posting.

MAKE SURE YOU CHECK YOU ARE REPLACING THE CORRECT BULB FIRST!!!!

All this time I have been replacing the full beam bulb and not the dipped beam bulb :tocktock:

Changed the dipped beam bulb today and all good....

I would ask for the post to be deleted, but I'm sure people will get a good laugh out of it.

HA HA HA HA
