My motor has just failed its MOT as the front NS and OS suspension arm bushes are shot, now the parts are only £14, however, the garage want to charge £213 + VAT to change them. I have said no and am going to possibly attempt to change them myself. Has anyone else done this, I am fairly practical but are ther any specialist tools I may need?

Any advice gladly welcomed.

Cheers
Tom

Just had a quote from Audi can you believe to replace the two suspension arm bushes they want £437.50!!!

Have decided against doing it myself as don't have the time and need it done to get it through the MOT which it has just failed on the bushes!!!

Booked in with VAG TECHNIK Henley on Thames who will do it for £125 all in and they will pick up and deliver back the car! What service!!!!

I had these done on my car last year, and they were an absolute pig to do! Luckily i had them done in the garage where i ran the parts department so didnt cost much atall :)

Well I'm glad I'm getting someone to do it as I think I may have struggled to do it in one sunday afternoon!!

On the positive side my new Milltek exhaust cat back arrived today so hopefully may do that sunday afternoon instead!!!

Think im going to have to get mine done, were advisory on MOT last year!
Good to know roughly how much should be paying.

The A Holes at west London Audi quoted £515! You have two options, buy just the bush and press it in to the arm (ball ache to do) or buy new arms. used audi specialist - fontain.co.uk charge £300 all in including the tracking and a loaner for the day so £250 ish for 1.6 hours labour and parts is annoying but about right.

NOTE you MUST do the tracking or start saving for new tyres and **** away the money you though you had saved!
