Probably the hardest job is releasing the strut from the hub. I bought a special tool from VW that you insert into the back of the hub which spreads it so the strut slides out easily, only costs about £12. Apart from that just make sure you have all the right tools to undo the appropriate nuts etc even down to the spline bits for undoing the track rod ends and drop links.
The backs are a doddle to do
If you have all the bits it's a couple of hours, if not, it can be best part of a day!!

As said fella. Right tools for the job

And plenty of coffee :)

Your car will look schweet on collies fella

Looking forward to :sign_pics:

Ju,I don't suppose you have a p/no for the hub splitter do you? :)

It's special tool no. 3424, they can be a bit arsey about selling it though. When I picked mine up I was told I wasn't supposed to be able to buy it but seeing as I'd already paid for it then bla bla bla!

Yea Id be the same, excellent guy local to me that is VAG specialist! I get him to do alot of stuff because it's easier to leave the car with him while I'm at work etc He put me H&R's in

yeah the garage next door the owner used to race karts so knows a thing or two about racing stuff so will know about coilovers

Fran if you want me and Nath will come around and do them with you?
I got him to adjust my front one's a few weeks ago. And he has fitted his S3 with coilovers.
Be cheaper going to him then a garage and it doesnt take him long to do them.

good idea, in-list someone thats done it before.....C spanners at the ready lol
