Been needing to sort my stopping power for a while now so had a ring around, bear in mind i work in the trade so can get discount, I will list retail prices where I got them, all prices quoted inc vat

    Front pads reatil 94.20 trade76.30
Rear discs each retail 52.62 trade 40.78 each

    CRN Products
I then decided to get the discs grooved so spoke with http://www.crn-uk.com/ who are based near me (there website is not the best but the two chaps who own the company are spot on. At first I got a price to groove the discs which wasnt cheap but then realised they could supply PAGID discs. They basically get there discs from Euro Car Parts.

from them I paid 250 all in for all PAGID products, 4 discs and 2 sets pads AND the grooving, complete with pad wear sensors, also now come corrosion coated (see below)

not had chance to get them fitted yet

    all ready for fitting

Pagid has a strong history and earned its reputation with vehicle manufacturers like VW Group, DaimlerChrysler, Opel/Saab and Porsche.
Through the years a philosophy of quality and performance has ensured Pagid has evolved into the choice of vehicle manufacturers globally.

Pagid's reputation for high performance friction is substantiated by O.E. approvals with:
    • Audi S4, S6, RS 6, TT, Q7
    • Mercedes C-Class, SLR
    • Opel Vectra OPC
    • Lamborghini Murcielago
    • Aston Martin Vanquish
    • VW Phaeton, Touareg
    • Porsche 997 GT3 RS, Cayenne
Leading the field in both O.E. and aftermarket friction development, Pagid is working in partnership with the world's leading brake and vehicles manufacturers for high performance cars.

Chosen by many of the world's leading vehicle manufacturers, as well as race teams at the very highest levels of motorsport, Pagid is one of the world's most respected braking brands and a name synonymous with research and development. Its new coated discs are just the latest in a long line of innovations.
The unique surface coating on Pagid's coated discs provides grease-free protection against corrosion, allowing for faster fitting than conventional discs, which require the installer to remove a layer of protective grease.
Donna West, director of communications, comments: "Pagid's new coated discs are the perfect partner to their O.E. quality brake pad range. They offer a quicker and easier fitment procedure, as they're straight out of the box and onto the vehicle and, whilst they're ideal for vehicles fitted with alloy wheels, as the special coating offers long-lasting protection against unsightly corrosion, every vehicle manufacturer is covered by Pagid's extensive range."

Excellent write up should help others weigh their options up. Let us know what they're like when you've fitted them

Looking to get my S3 brakes changed with some upgraded disks and pads. Do you know if it's worth buying the disks and pads yourself and getting a garage to fit them or would it be cheeper to buy them through the garage?

cheaper to do all the work by yourself, not hard or that time consuming and would save you a fair bit. most garages would charge about £100-£150 to fit the brake discs and pads.
just buy the kit yourself and get them to fit if your uncomfortable fitting yourself

Thanks Ash. I've done disks and pads on a 1997 Honda Civic about 10 years ago so I might give it a go and graze my knuckles. Can't be that much different.

TBH as long as you have a decent trolley jack, wrench, socket set with 7mm alan key socket, wind back tool & some copper grease, should be a doddle, just takes little time, but hey if its your time then no worries there

    Whereabouts are you Matt?

I've got everything apart from a wind back tool but any excuse to buy new tools. I'm near Bishops Stortford on the Hertfordshire Essex border.
