Hi all, I own an '05 A3 TDI and love it to bits except for one problem. About a week ago when the weather was absolutely freezing my other half borrowed the car and decided that the best way to clear the frost and ice on the drivers door window was to try to open it, as most people with an ounce of common sense would know you do not try to use electric windows when they are frozen!!!
As a result of this the window is now inoperative and I have removed the door card to have a look. When the window switch is pressed the motor is still working but I have found a thin wire cable is completely snapped and I have absolutely no idea as to what the best fix is. Can you buy new cables or is the only option a completely new motor and kit? Need to sort it ASAP as the window can be opened by hand from the exterior. :tapedshut:
