Hi all. I recently bought a 2006 a3 2.0tdi. After driving away it lost power when we went on motorway, there was no engine lights on just lack of power. After turning engine off and on it would be fine then would happen again. It happened 3-4 times, then just before I got back to private dealer the engine light came on. He put into his mechanic who said a fault code relating to a "sensor near the turbo" showed up. He said it was damp due to valet, he dried it out and said it should be fine. I took the car back and it was fine for about 3 weeks, until this week when it has happened again twice with no light. I'm going to ring him up again because it has 3 months warranty. Would a code show up if no light came on?
Any ideas what it could be so I could tell him before the warranty runs out?

Take it to someone with Vagcom to diagnose the fault. Could be anything really but get it independantly checked before warranty runs out just in case.

its going into limp mode because somethings wrong get it checked up on a computer.

Limp mode usually happens when protecting the engine from turbo overboost.

This tends to be caused by sticking vanes in the turbo.

Nothing to do with a valet ! That's just ridiculous !!

As said above - get it independantly checked on VCDS by someone you know with the software or take it to a VW/ Audi specialist.

Ok thanks for the help, I will have to try and find someone local to me with vcds.
