    A3 Quattro Battery Box

I could go out an check, but it's cold....

I'm fairly sure I have a battery in the engine bay on my TDI Quattro (I've never hard call to remove it or paid it much attention), however when removing all the boot trim I came accross an access pannel in the boot with a plastic box directly below it, am I right in thinking this is a battery box also?

Just seems like a lot of expense for no real reason to me.

IIRC the 3.2 has a battery in the boot so I'd imagine the shell is the same on all of them, I have a black panel in the boot also but never really looked at what it was for may have to investigate

TDI quattro battery is under the bonnet, i wondered what this box was too, so i took the cover off to investigate about a month ago, found it was full of water, absolutely no sign of where water is getting in though? boot floor was bone dry,

It's a battery box I believe, Devonmikeyboy has his battery mounted in the boot IIRC he said battery just had to be placed in this box and connected with the terminals that were already!!!
Bonus, I thought I would do the same to my SB (fwd) but unfortunately there isn't one in my boot
