2006 2.0TDI beeps occasionally on start-up
Hi, recently I have been getting a beep when starting my car (same as fuel low, bulb gone e.t.c) but no message or light is displayed on the dash, it does not happen every time was just wondering if anyone has any idea what it could be, have not got round to plugging it into the laptop yet.
Car is as detailed in title 2006 2.0TDI 140
There is not problems when driving all ok.
Think it does it if outside temp is 5 degrees or lower (ice warning).
I believe you have posted twice on this question and have been answered twice !
There is no problem apart from the temperature - exactly as Backstep advised.
You will have a star shape in the DIS next to the temperature display. Less than 5 degrees Celcius and you get a beep b!
Hi I have in fact only posted once on this question, the last time I had a problem was when the coolant light came on in the cold, this is no message and occasionally. Seems peoples priority is to correct people on here.
Oh and thanks for your help
Please accept my apology- you have not posted twice !

I should say however that it is not fair to suggest that peoples' priorities are to correct people on here. The fact is that many, many times people ask a question that has been asked, and answered, lots of times before on the forum.
It is always hoped, by people like me who try to help, that the person asking the question would have researched the problem by searching the forum first and then asking any supplementary information if the answer has not been available. Unfortunately this does not happen and people like me have to repeat the answers over and over again !
May I respectfully suggest that you will receive loads and loads of help that you need, particularly if you have tried to help yourself first, by doing as much research as possible.
Nobody on here replies to a thread with the intention of causing irritation but you have to accept the fact that it is a bit of a ball-ache if we know the subject has been addressed before and the original poster has not even bothered to check it out.
Clearly this is not the case with you but I merely make the point.
Finally, and most importantly, I do not think you or your car has a problem in this case. I have exactly the same car, year and model as you and these things happen.
If you do not get any warnings whilst driving then it should be ok.
Sorry for the long-winded reply but it can be a tad frustrating when trying to help people and it is not totally appreciated or understood what experience and research has gone into the basis of the answer.
Cheers and don't worry
