Removing Needle from cluster?

Ive removed the cluster from my car and the plastic surround from the cluster, but Im struggling to get the rev counter needle off. I assumed this would just pop off but dont want to force it.

Any help is appreciated guys

a fork or use 2 spoons

thats the way i do it with about damaging the cluster
 
cheers mate, Managed to get it off and reconnect it......Its now officially dead, No movement in at all now. I'll just purchase another cluster now that i confirm its goosed.
