car is currently on about 63k miles.
got a flyer from audi saying cambelt due at 75k or 5 years old.

car is a Jan 06 so near to 5 years but have been told that normally its 80k miles.

its quite a big $$ job even at specialist I know so what do you think?

anyone been through this and done a bit later?

or not worth taking the risk.

thanks, NW

dont take the risk. changed mine at 76 000 and was lucky because the old belt was showing serious signs of wear. Be sure to change your water pump while your on.

mines 6 years old and 72k and not done it yet. Service indicator is showing service due in 2k miles so i'm guessing this is where i have the biggie!

Service £140
Cambelt and pump £450

ouch!

and to make matters worse I need discs and pads all round.....but i'll do them myself

As mentioned, get whoever does it to change the waterpump at the same time. I got a quote from my garage for about the whole cost of the belt/tensioner/pump for about £100 and again for the labour. Not bad!

Just a quick one regarding the cam belt change. The cabm belt should be replaced after 5 years regardless of the milage. Audi should have flagged it up .

As every one said get it changed its not worth the risk. Got mine changed last May @ Audi when she was on 63k as it 5years old then.
Its expensive but well worth it and you wont have to worry about it for another 5years :)
