2009 A3 Chrome Surround Removal (Front Grill.)

Hi,
I've been looking around for a while now but I cant seem to find a definite answer.
Is it possible to remove the chrome surround on the front grill without removing the bumper and what not?

Instead of making a new, how the fudge do you splitt the chrome surround off the grill when it's off the car, Ive had the screwdriver out and nothing?
 
There should be around 20 plastic tabs between the surround and the main grill, just pop them off.

yeah seen these, sounds much easier than doing it. ****** me right off tryed to do it.
 
Anyone seen a black surround trim for the new facelift? Would like a black grill without removing the grill but I'v only found for the 2004-2008
