Uprated clutch - Helix stage 1

southbend
with LWFW

The price differential between the southbend and the Helix is quite significant isnt it?

yes but you get what you pay for iv run helix and killed them had the southbend stage 1 in a a4 for 18 mth and all ok
got 1 in my b7 over 9mth now and still ok
used helix in a gsi astra a4 a4 18T and just killed them under 3 mth

I would have to agree i've not heard great things about Helix clutches. If mine was a stage 2 or stg2+ S3 and I wanted longevity from a clutch that I did not have to baby, that could take abuse I deff go with a Southbend & SMF set up, plus they have so much choice from conventional drive plates to paddle plates for drag dracing, but minimum there basic model can handle is 400lb ft!

S3_Alex admits to driving his car very carefully- no low RPM /high load driving and no hard launches, that's only why his Sachs Organic is coping with over 400 lf bt torque . On VW Vortex most people running BT setups on 2.0TFSIs are using Southbends with no probs.

stage 3 and not a prob
