My cars due its DSG oil change very soon, but its looking increasingly likely that my car needs a new DMF.

Question is, is it worth getting my oil changed now and sorting the DMF out later?

Or when the DMF is changed on a DSG-equipped car do you need an oil change anyway?

Personally I'd keep the money for the DMF, as that's likely to cost a fortune!

Out of interest, have you gotten any prices on it?

Well the oil change needs doing...just dont want to do it if the mechanic has to drain/refill the oil when they do flywheel change.

Ive seen eurocarparts have a DMF for about £330 not sure if that fits DSG cars though, and if you set up a trade account with them you might get a bit more off too...I know a transmissions specialist in Kent called 'star transmissions' who will do the labour as well, just a bit worried how much experience he has with DSG boxes.

Anyone know how much harder the DSG box is to remove compared to a manual a3?

Not heard of many DSG flywheels needing replacing, what mods you running?

Well im not 100% sure the flywheel needs replacing...

When the car is cold and is idling in neutral there is a 'clattering' sound that goes when i put it in 'D' at idle. When im going between 'N' and 'D' the noise comes and goes but I cant see it being anything other than the flywheel. It seems to get better or go when warm though - does that sound like a symptom of failing flywheel?

Only mods I have are an AMD remap and pipercross panel filter
