    Cornering Fog Lights

Quite a few cars (e.g. latest Golf) now have one fog light come on (at night & at low speeds only) when you indicate, to improve visibility into dark turnings.

I quite like this idea and was wondering if it can be done on the A3.

Ive seen this as well on a few cars both my mates clio and punto evo have it. Personally i havent seen a need for it especially with Xenons and even in both their cars it doesnt make a huge amount of difference. Just looks like theyve got a fog light out when turning.

It might be possible only on newer modules - ie MY10 onward. They have completely changed the CE module so they may have introduced it with that.

MAN Trucks TG-S and TG-X have been doing this for the last 4 years ! But seeing as they fit the same FFR (Vehicle Management Computer) as the VAG range its not surprising.

MAN Trucks engineered and styled by Audi. Look at the grill on the next newish MAN you see and if you can have a butchers at the dash arrangement and you will see exactly what i mean.

So guys your pride and joy got its electronic platform from a dirty big TRUCK, waddya think of that ????

I don't like this feature as looks as though a car has a bulb out.

Leon Cupras do it IIRC, at least I've seen one do it!

i can only think its a kind of AFL type of function, I admit would be happy. Maybe some of the coding wizards can advise. I the meantime i might look into what Seat call it.

    Didn't take long:

Thanks to the Adaptive Front-Lighting System (AFS) the SEAT Altea's bi-xenon headlights follow the rotational movement of the steering wheel, giving you illumination where you need it most. The cornering lights serve a similar purpose - activated by the indicator signal, a cornering light housed in the fog lamp illuminates the area in the direction you intend to turn. Like the Daytime Running Lights (for cars specified with bi-xenon headlights), this also makes you more visible to oncoming drivers.
would appear not to be the normal fog but a split lense with another light for this function.

I activated them for a customer when he had all his bulbs upgraded, that was a 62 reg so 8p3 cars will have the option.

I enabled this on my 2009 8P3 with VCDS: You need to enable 2 things in Central Electronics Module:
'Corning lights via fog lamps' and 'Internal turn light algorithm'

I found this image on the web to help you but your VCDS screen will probably look different.

It's even easier on my 2010. (probably the only thing that is actually easy on a 2010)
I just ticked the button that said Cornering lights via fog lamps and they worked.

I just need some whiter bulbs now, the fogs look almost brown compared to my xenons and drl's
