Got a a3 tdi 2.0 sport 140
Bkd engine I think.

Needs new head. Suffix a I've got

Wa other heads fit? Eg Ibiza ones? 1.9?
Wen changing heads could you list all parts I need?? Cheers

Surely it can't be reasonable to expect anyone to list out the miriad of parts necessary to fit a new head ?

There must be hundreds !

Don't want another suffix a head as all of them crack according to research.
Will any other heads fit? Eg the pd150? Or pd140?

The BKD engine is a PD140. The only other head to fit a BKD PD140 engine is the PD170 head but you need to remove the cams as they are different. Not all A suffix heads cracked and £150 for a pressure tested head compared to £800 + for a new one.

Quite a few 'a' heads cracked

Very few 'b' heads cracked

No 'c' heads cracked (yet)

If devonmikeyboy is selling a pressure tested head it doesn't matter what suffix it has, it'll be ok.

And if it isn't I'm sure he'll sort it.

03G 103 373 C suffix is stamped on both the late PD140 heads and the PD170 heads as they are both designed and made the same way.

Any ideas where exactly it is stamped ...pics ? any other ways to tell ?

As you look from the front of the car - right hand side of the engine underneath the fuel pipes.

Obviously you have to remove the cover first !

The picture below shows what the 03G 103 373 stamp looks like on the head.
