can i use 100watt bulbs in my a3 headlamps (only as high beam...not driving) ? just wondering if the wiring could cope or the plastic lens 100W POWER Xenon Dipped/low Beam Bulbs H7 MAZDA 323 F on eBay (end time 17-Nov-10 17:20:33 GMT)

Not legal for road use in UK but if you're not bothered then wiring will cope ok.

Make sure you change them back for MOT purposes !!

as long as plastic lens copes...i may use them as i use the country lanes alot and need sumat bright

I would be just as concerned with your light switch. In my younger days I had 100w bulbs fitted to my Mk2 Golf & innocently just fitted them straight in. Over a short period of time it burnt out my light switch. Knowing more nowadays I should have rewired & used a relay. You would be better off fitting the Osram night breaker bulbs from what I've read.

Dont confuse wattage with brightness or beam distance. Go for Osram nightbreakers ( or+), 90% brighter than std and crucially a 35m longer beam. ( and legal)
It says on the box on that ebay advert only 60% brighter.

I went for the Philips X-Treme Power +80%Philips X-Treme (Extreme) Power - Philips Bulbs from Power Bulbs

and only for these bad boys to come out 2 weeks later!
