I realy want a hardcore stanced look on my a3 I understand its just a case of lowering and sticking some streched tyre's on some wide rims, my budget is around £1000 will I be able to achieve this?

What size wheels are best to use?
Coilovers/ air bags ?

Thanks Simon :)

is your budget 1000 all in mate?.. if so you will be pushed to get on getting either some wheels and half decent tyres or coilovers.... air bags are def out of the q with that budget I am afraid mate... some other peeps I am sure will give some other advice but hope that helps...

I was hoping i could do it for around that budget as Im saving for a house and the gf would go nuts if I were to spend the house fund money on the car :D lol

your best bet is to get some entry level coilovers bro.... check out DPM website you prob get a a set for 400 (you going to fit them yourself ? as add another 150-200 for fitting othewise, plus wheel alignment costs)then use the rest and try and get a wheel tyre package but 600 for wheels and stretched tyres you may find it hard unless you look on flea bay bro..

Cheers dude, yeh I'll fit them myself not worth paying to get them fitted its pretty simple's. I'll save the pennies for some wheels and see what I can find, I have 18" at the moment but I dont realy wanna get 19" as it might look silly and pimp my ride style. I prefere smaller super wide wheels just not sure if i'll get the look im after.

Agree what Sneaka said. Await N8 input or send him an email im sure he can tell you what coilovers and tyres to go for. What alloys were you thinking of getting?

p.s love that AD War between BMW & Audi Classic

those wheels could possibly be in the thousands on there own. i would chuck on some cheap coilovers and a decent wheel/tyre package if your just trying to stance it. can get coilovers on ebay for around 160, fair do's they might be made of Chocolate but if they brake within year maybe, just chuck on some new. or you might have more funds then

Ill speak to him and get some advice, Im not to sure on wheels yet I fancy some bbs rs but I understand that my budget might not allow this or something slightly different.
I would love this stance with the same wheels but painted candy green with black centres :) Google Image Result for http://jonsibal.com/blog/wp-content/themes/arthemia/scripts/timthumb.php?src=/jonsibal.com/bpimages/A3RS_1.jpg&w=573&h=375&zc=1&q=100

Lovely alloys but im guessing there gonna be expensive in less ebay do any reps? Maybe get some cheap coilovers for £250-£300 and then sort out the alloys and tyres

yeh fair one :( ive got this image in my head of exactly how I want my car.

Your going to be looking at more than your budget for your wheels alone, and like has been already pointed out, if you go for the entry level stuff, its going to potentially break within a year.
You might get lucky finding a bit of what you want second hand, but with coilovers they're already going to have had a fair bit of wear and tear.
My suggestion would be to spend a fair bit of your budget on adjustable coilovers, give it a nice stance on the wheels you've got now, and then when funds permit you can get a nice set of wheels and slam it on the coilovers :)
At least you'll know it'll be decent kit too.

I guess I'll just have to keep my eye's open, would I have any issue's with lowering 75mm all round using these FK Highsport Coilover Suspension Kit A3 8P / A3 8P Sportback 1.8T FSi, 1.9TDi, 2.0T FSi, 2.0TDi FWD 05/03> - £450.00 : The premiere online mail order VAG suspension and performance specialists. We offer a wide range of all the best branded suspension

I have a set on my lupo a couple of years ago and there were pretty gd.

I can comment on the FK as never used them. My car lowered on Jamex, was going to go for some weitec's.
But after having an ride in a S3 and MK5 golf. Who both are using Jamex and not had a problem with them for the 18months they have been on. Thought they would be fine with my car, ride is alot better than my standard set up.
As said speak to the Damien over at DPM one of the sites sponsors he will be able to sort you out regarding coilover set up.

Hey Simon, it'll cost you more than £1000 to get a "hardcore stance" as you put it. Air ride is very expensive, it ranges from £1500 - £3500 + fitting. Here are some examples of nice Audis/VWs

I run FK Silverline on my car. The set is really good value for your money. Fitting is easy aswell.

FK can go low, but not "slammed" low, at least not in the back...

Been gone for half hour come back got a million post lol. Thanks for the pictures N8 theres some awsome looking dubs around, I might just go down the route of getting a decent set of coilovers and painting my wheels.

haha i know, and i would but no spare cash for the car till jan now as thats when my next hit of student loan comes in
this terms loan when on performance work, so now its the turn of cosmetics

Nice to see you spending your student loan wisely :sly:

haha thats what i thought, the only good side to my course keeping me so busy, dont have a much time to go out drinking.... so drinking money becomes car money :o.k:

I'm not much a drinker either
me neither, so when it comes to £50 on a night out, or £50 worth of V-power and a country road, there really isnt much of a competition!

i know tell me about it, but nothing else id rather do so just have to knuckle down and get on with it, but only 2 years to go so the light is at the end of the tunnel!!

i know its gonna feel like it! its the price tho of doing what you want to do!
