Last month my Audi 2006/56 a3 170 Dpf started to cut power at 2000rpm come back on power but was totally lumpy up to 4000rpm. I took it to my local Audi dealer and they wanted Ł290 to change the exhaust gas temp sensor!!! After picking myself up from the floor I spoke to my dad who is dealer principle at my local Seat dealer, he had the car checked and agreed it was the EGT and had it changed, The car was back to being itself.
Now one month on the problem has started again my dad took the car back in via a 20 mile drive and agreed that there was a problem but there computer could find no faults logged. This problem is mainly happening before it get to full temperature. My dad has advised me to take it to Audi but as they have the same computer I am not sure i am going to get much more info from them except a large bill.
Any advise would be appreciated, thanks
