As the title says, am planning on getting some H&R's next year but would be interested to see some pics of how the car sit's with them on 18s.

Thanks
Shane

Before my coilovers i was on a 35mm drop with H&R springs, didn't really make much difference to the ride height to be honest, as the S-Line is slightly lower anyway it was only a 20mm ish drop which i couldn't really notice even with 500 miles on the springs.

I'm running H&R's on mine although it's now on 19's.
A few pics of my current and previous steed also on H&R's

Hope that helps a bit!

Looks great on the new wheels Julian!!

Im running 50mm H&R springs on 18" OEM Wheels.....remember s-line is about 20mm lower than standard already

So my 50mm spring - 20mm existing s-line spring = lowerage of about 30mm

What profile tyres do you have in that pic smoothie? Im after H&R springs for mine, got in touch with dpm they only have 35mm springs to fit the quattro. Its an s-line so as said above with 35mm springs its not goin to be a huge difference. Does anyone know if 50mm springs are available for the quattro?

I take it 50mm springs are not a good idea?

That's a fairy tale, it's tried and tested on here and mines running perfect at that height! only lowered 25-30mm from s-line....eiabch springs drop futher than that

50mm is pretty much the limit though, then a shock upgrade is in order which is probably why they only make a 35 & 50

Yea they should be available for the quattro

Yeah I would love to go collies but funds are needed elsewhere, what about the handling as I heard it's a much more comfortable drive but still better in corners?

Thanks that helped alot, ride height looks better than mine but I agree 19s look alot better, when ever I get round to changing may opt for 19" RS4s then

Yeah I knew about the being 15-20mm lower already, would love to go abit lower but with the quattro 35mm springs seem to be the lowest around without going collies

Thanks

these are all on 35mm springs you say ?

Yes m8 all on 35mm H&R's but then I've only seen 35mm ones listed tbh!

They were ET45's as with most reps.
OEM A3 rims are ET54

I was thinking of putting 35mm H&R springs on my A3 55 plate SE, it sits really high lol, but because it sits so high im thinking 50mm would sit better, would that be a correct asumption?

and as i have an SE will i need new shocks? thanks

I have 35mm H&R on 19" rotors. If I'm honest I wish I went for 50mm springs.

I was thinking the same but my problem is I have an SE which obv is softer than sport so thinking if I want to go 50mm I probs end up needing to change shocks too

Have only driven about 10km so I'm hoping they will settle a bit more.

If anyone is reading this thread and is thinking about doing it themselves, my tips would be:

Do it without removing hub/driveshafts etc

Use heaps of WD40

Have a 7mm Allen key handy (most sets only come with a 6mm and 8mm) as well as a swan neck 21mm spanner
