A knack to removing the crimped connectors from the head unit's quad lock adapter?

Have been out in the car for nearly an hour faffing with them and I'm turning up nothing helpful online. Anyone have any wisdom to part? :(

Talking about these ones specifically, pretty sure its called the D block.

You need a paper clip and insert it's ends down each side from the front (not the cable side) and this releases the crimp from the block
 
Yeah indeed that's what I've tried. Also tried using a couple of tiny jewellers-size screw drivers, but they won't seem to budge (and I'm putting considerable force on them). Starting to think a Kufatec loom for the bluetooth module would be way easier than trying to get these damn things out!

But if that's how they come out that must be it. Will keep at it, thanks.
