To clean or not to clean....

Is there any point in cleaning the exhaust (standard one ) will it come back to resemble something better than it is now?
 
i did it on both my a3 and s3 but ill keep it polished up when i go stainless ;)
 
What colour were the exhausts when new then?
 
Ah mine i dont think was ever chrome...just the normal bog standard double exhaust
 
I personally just leave mine black, I prefer it black and plus I'm too lazy to clean it :p
 
Well i polished my pipes (ahem) today and they came out alot better than i thought they would. Gone from black to silver with a tiny bit of work on them.

Yeah please do. Would appreciate tips too - been thinking today my exhaust is filthy.
 
N8 polished mine a while back (now now), nearly 4 months ago and it's still MUCH better than it was before
 
lol i might need to venture into the detailing section of the forum.....
 
Pics to follow... All i did was use a sponge with a brillo pad on it and used some fairy liquid and some polish paste. Buffed and dried with a tea towel.

Looks so much better than mine. Think my exhaust needs to good clean also.
