Ok once i get the car back i'm changing over the alloys for a bit as the S3 are going in for a refurb and im pretty bored of them now. I'm after some decent looking 997 Turbo alloys. Any one know any companys? Also where should i go for some hub adapters from? Or be best to go Damien over @DPM? And what sort of price should i expect to pay? If any one can recommend some other alloys that be great. Not looking on getting any Audi replicas alloys.

Hi mate i had a quick look on google and couldnt find any. it may be worth joining a porche fourm and seeing if any rich bggers are changing there wheels or know where to get some salvaged ones.
 
Benskin mate... I was gunna get a set but thinking that I am going for some bentleys... I will PM u a fella's number to contact as he said he will be getting some 997's shipped in soon... dunno the price but may be worth it mate..

Cheers Nally, thought id have to end up getting genuine ones lol. Wondering how much they are gonna cost. I'll have a look on some porscue forms or may even see if some of the salvage companys who deal with my work to keep an eye out. Thanks again

there you go mate problem solved. i would expect about a grand for some nice ones.
 
i know the feeling want my bumpers on... got the paint today got to drop the bumpers off later

i like them but i always worry about that type of finish. i had that affect on my dodge and it did blister in places had it from new and sold it with 24k on it so i would check if you get any garuntee on them.( i like the old 911 wheels) the shurreken ones

Found some alloys im interested in will these fit my car with adaptors? And what you think of the quality by looking at them? Porsche 19" 997 911 996 turbo alloy wheels on eBay (end time 27-Aug-10 19:01:01 BST)

Yes they will fit with adaptors but they are too wide, 11 inch rear? No chance!

the affect wne a bit funny on my mates lexus as well think its just proned to it. i would get the old 911 and pay to get them powder coated, or a5 ( five spoked forked ones)

The second ones are the same as the ones below, 11 inch rears! The first set however would go on but you would need a stretched tyre. Also budget 250-300 for adaptors.

As for the quality, the actual wheel is probably ok but the finish will be poor, nearly all wheels with a polished laquered finish will peel and look rubbish wihin months so you would need to budget for a refurb at some ppoint too.
 
Hi mate,

Just a suggestion if your looking at 997 Turbo alloy's.

Why not look at the original R8 5 spoke alloys on Your S3, far cheaper and they come in the right size without any mucking around and have a simillar pattern. 5 twin spoke design instead of the Turbo's 3 spoke design.

Check them out on the TTshop's web site I think you may like them a lot, It is what I was going to do next to my S3 but bought the Porsche instead.

Haha good man. Thats what im worried about. I'm considering these and changing colour item number 260651266311 on ebay. Just finished but the guy still got them and i've seen them on ebay since july lol.

Will these fit front wheel ET50 Width 7.5 and Rear ET52 Width 9 there Porsche BBS 18" Sport Split Rim . Thanks for your input on this Lee

Hi Gaz,

Thanks for your input. Not really the biggest fan of those R8 5 Spoke alloys. Think they look ugly on A3/S3. only really suit the R8 and i dont even think they look that good on them. The R8 V10 alloys are not too bad. But wouldnt put them on my car. Nice choice of car mind if you ever go aftermarket with your alloys keep my in mind:eyebrows:

Ash, not sure if you made any progress on getting some wheels but I was up in Yorkshire and made a visit to specialists Kahn Wheels who do Porker Replicas. Might be worth giving them a call, ask to speak to Chris George. Lots of other good stuff..

Cheers for that KKP. I've found some replicas just waiting for some actually pictures of the wheels. I'll give them a call tomorrow see what they got in stock :) Lovely collection of cars they have aswell. That bugatti looks awesome.
