My mate has a 2004 quattro 3.2, Since he's had the car the rev counter hasnt worked at all,

Is there any common problems with this?

Or anything sensor wise that can be checked or cleaned?

Thanks.

Its hard to know without a scan using vagcom. Where are you? Maybe there is a fellow member nearby with the lead that could help you out.

The needle mechanism could of come of the wheel in the back of the cluster, need to take it apart to check tbh.

Cheers fellas,

Im doing research for a mate who doesnt have time for posting on the forums,

Any guides for taking apart a 3.2 2004 quattro dash please?

Hes based in loughton, Essex...Anyone close?

Thanks.

Anyone got a link for taking an a3 2004 quattro dash off please?

release the steering wheel adjustment latch & pull wheel out & down as far as you can the trim directly under the clocks pulls off revealing two bolts. Undo these and wriggle clocks out. The is a single multi-plug connected to rear, release the pink latch by unclipping the latch turning it through 180 degrees while pulling out multiplug. After doing it once its a 2 min job.

If its the cluster thats faulty, maybe its time to upgrade ;-)
