disconnected lambda sensor

Hello,
I do not have problems with my lambda sensor, but this lamda sensor is mounted on exhaust and cable from this sensor is disconnected.
VAG do not say any problem about lambda sensor.
Some people says that motor without lambda sensor is running in emergency mode or fuel consumption can be very high.
What is your opinion about this?

Sounds like you might have a modified exhaust for a BAM ratherthan an APY and your engine has only one sensor on the DP. the disconected one is there just to blank that extra hole.
