Hi guys. Im quite new to the Audi scene and just had a quick question about my water temperature gauge and boost presure. I have a 1.8t with an AGU engine. I have noticed that the car gets to 90 degrees very quickly. It never passes 90, so i assume its not a problem but I was just wondering if this is normal for these engines?

Secondly I fitted a boost gauge and found that it is boosting at round 14psi. Is this standard boost or has the boost been upped?

Cheers Adam

well they are cheaky and have varible gauges, basically means anywhere between 80 and 105 (or something like that) the gauge will sit at 90. Its basically to make the car look 'quality' and stop people going into dealers worrying about the temperture of the engine.

14 psi is about right for a mapped A3 i think

That's fine, as long as it stays only at 90, no more no less

8 psi is normal I think... I am sure someone will correct if I am wrong

It doesnt pass 90 it was just the fact it gets up to temperature in about 5 minutes that puzzled me a bit.

Sound that's saved money on the map then!

8 PSI is standard boost.

Yours has most likely been mapped for the boost to be that high.
