Beesting aerial - replacment

My S3 beesting aerial is in tatters on the front facing part of the rubber. It looks untidy.

Do I need to buy an OEM part or will an eBay replacement be OK? I do not want to compromise signal strength if possible as it is not great, but at the end of the day an aerial is an aerial. Isn't it?

You can buy replacement ones from Ebay etc, i hear the Civic Type R ones are a good replacement too if its a shortened one you are after.

Oh reception will be cr4p if you replace it, although its not the best anyway.
